Fotoromans (2003)
Series and book of eleven one-page photo sequences. The photo-story format is employed
to deconstruct the power relations of the look in cinematic structures. Each picture is only
significant in relation to the images that sorround it and corresponds to a decisive
moment/frame that defines the characters' relations to the power structures of the look,
which is subverted by a narration that betrays itself, generating only paradoxes, never a
fully developed story. In the same direction work the lines of text, never fixing or explaining
what happens in the images, but enabling other meanings.
